Troparion of the Righteous Fathers Tone 1
Let us honour the triple choir of righteous fathers,/ glorious Isaac, Dalmatos and Faustos./ They dispel the night of passions by the three-branched candlestick of Christ the Light/ and by their virtues illuminate those who cry:/ Glory to Him Who has made you wonderful; glory to Him Who has magnified you;/ glory to Him Who through you works healings for all.

Troparion of St Anthony the Roman Tone 4
Thou didst leave old Rome thy fatherland,/ and scale a rock as though it were a lightship./ On it thou didst cross the sea like a Bodiless One,/ guided by the foreseeing of the Divine Mind./ Thou didst reach Great Novgorod and build a monastery/ wherein thou didst leave the holy gift of thy body./ We beseech thee, O Father Anthony, to pray to Christ our God that He save our souls.

Troparion of St Trea Tone 3
Angels rejoiced in thy life of prayer, fasting and seclusion/ for the love of Christ our Savior, O holy Trea./ Aware of our worldliness and lack of resolution,/ we turn to thee, O blessed one,/ beseeching thee to intercede for us with Christ our God/ that He will grant us great mercy.

By asceticism you shone like lights in the world/ and by your faith you overthrew heresies./ O Isaac, Dalmatos and Faustos,/ we praise you with hymns/ as servants of Christ who are praying for us all.

Kontakion of St Anthony Tone 8
You were brought up in Rome and blossomed with grace in Great Novgorod/ where you pleased God with your many labours and struggles./ He granted you the gift of working miracles and kept thy body incorrupt for many years./ As we kiss it we joyfully cry to thee: Rejoice, O Father Anthony.

St. Anthony the Roman, Abbot of Novgorod

St. Anthony was born in Rome, in 1086, of devout parents. At that time, the Roman Church was departing from the universal Church in Schism, and those who remained faithful to the Orthodox Church were persecuted by the Roman clergy. St. Anthony was among those persecuted. He gave away his goods and became a monk. Standing upon a rock in the sea, he lived an ascetic life for 14 months. Then the rock, by a strange providence, parted from its base, and it floated through the waters to Novgorod in Rus'. There Archbishop Nikita welcomed St. Anthony and helped him build a church to the Mother of God, which later became a monastery, St. Anthony becoming its abbot.
